Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible for your data
PrintTime (printtime.org) is operated by Tiger Lin, a student at the Princeton International School of Mathematics and Science (PRISMS) in Princeton, New Jersey, United States. For anything about your data, email support@printtime.org.
2. What we collect
- Account details: name (or organization name), email, password (stored only as a salted hash), and the date you accepted the Terms.
- Optional profile details: city and country (never a street address), a short bio or organization description, a website, a profile picture, and for makers the printers, build volume, and materials you choose to list.
- Content you create: print requests, uploaded model files, messages in job chats, reviews, photos of printed parts, and organization verification details.
- Technical data: your IP address (used only for security and rate limiting) and a single login cookie.
3. How we use it
Only to run the service: signing you in, showing requests to makers near you, enabling job chats, sending the emails the service needs (verification, password resets, job updates, organization verification), and protecting the site from abuse. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Who else sees your data
Other users see what the product shows them: your display name, city and country, profile details, and the jobs, messages, and reviews you take part in. Makers on a job can see the requesting organization's contact email.
We rely on these services to operate, and they process data only on our behalf:
- Render - hosting for the site and its database (United States).
- Resend - sending our transactional emails.
- Cloudflare Turnstile - the "confirm you are human" check at sign-up.
- Google - only if you choose "Continue with Google" to sign in; Google shares your name and email with us.
We disclose data beyond this only if the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
Your data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, your content, and your uploaded files are removed; jobs you already printed keep a record of the work without your name attached. Database backups are kept for 14 days and then overwritten, so deleted data can persist in a backup for up to 14 days.
6. Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in (and short-lived ones during Google sign-in). There are no analytics or advertising cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of.
7. Your rights
You can edit your profile in Settings, download everything we hold about you with the "Download my data" button there, and delete your account at any time. If you live somewhere with data-protection rights (for example the EU, the UK, California, or New Zealand) and want to exercise them another way, email support@printtime.org and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Children
PrintTime is for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger; if you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it.
9. Security
Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, the site is served over HTTPS, and uploaded files are checked before they are stored. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be announced by email or a notice on the site.
